A 12 BORE PERCUSSION SINGLE BARREL SPORTING GUN CONVERTED FROM FLINTLOCK BY GARDNER OF NEWCASTLE, , no visible serial number 32 in. barrel with drum and nipple conversion, engraved at the breech with a large starburst, together with two gold bands and the original makers name 'GARDNER NEWCASTLE' inlaid in gold, the lock with leafed border engraving and the makers name 'GARDENER', in an oval to centre, plain cock, half stocked in walnut, with iron mounts, chequered wrist and forend (worn), with replacement brass tipped ramrod, the barrel to a pleasing brown patina, old repair to stock at bottom edge of lock.
